Oyasync hospitality ERP
Three ERPNext-based products that give small Nigerian businesses real accounting tools, built by a team I led and hired.
Debit · what made it hard
Small fashion and hospitality businesses need proper books, but enterprise ERP is too expensive, too general, and too much.
Credit · what shipped
Three white-labelled products with APIs for mobile and web clients, and a hospitality module now running at 18+ firms.
Context
Most small businesses in Lagos run their books in a notebook, a spreadsheet, or someone’s head. Oyasync set out to give them real accounting tools, and I headed the engineering team that built them.
What we built
- Three products on white-labelled ERPNext, aimed at small businesses in fashion and hospitality. Each one was shaped around how those businesses actually work, not around a generic ERP menu tree.
- An extended ERPNext API so the products could serve both mobile and web clients, not just the desk UI.
- The hospitality module. It launched and stuck, and it’s now used by 18+ hospitality firms.
The team
I interviewed and hired the engineers who joined the team, and I set the bar for how we built. I was a working lead: reviewing, unblocking, and writing code myself.
